Lucky to be alive

Two occupants of a recreational vehicle are lucky to be alive when it caught fire earlier this evening in the 3200 Block of Smith Valley Road.  White River Township firefighters and an Engine from Greenwood Fire Department responded to the reported building fire just after 9:30 p.m.  The first-arriving units discovered a fully-engulfed motor home, two small storage structures, and some propane tanks involved.  Strong winds from a passing weather front fanned the flames but the fire was brought quickly under control.  "They're lucky to be alive", said Eric Brown, the department's Fire Marshal.  "As quickly as the fire spread and with the propane tanks nearby, it could have been much worse", he added.  No one was injured in the fire, however the two structures and the RV appeared to be a total loss.  Investigators were just beginning the search for the cause at press time, so no further information was available.
