Fire destroys firefighter's home

The home of White River Township firefighter Charlie Fraker was destroyed by a fire earlier this evening in Martinsville.  The fire erupted around 5:30 p.m. at 840 S. Home Avenue when no one was home.  Charlie was on-duty at Station 53 when he received a call from his brother about a fire that was reported to Martinsville firefighters in the area of where he knew Charlie lived.  Charlie immediately called his wife, Tori, and confirmed that she, and their three children were safe and not at home.  He then proceeded home to discover that the house had been heavily damaged by the fire.  Fire crews were on the scene at press time and were working to determine the cause.  White River Township firefighters have already begun taking up collections and donations to help the family.  A related story and photos can found HERE.
