A blast from the past

         One of the buildings used to house the Crabapple Creek Country Day School at 1448 S. Runyon Road wasn't always at that location.  A portion of the structure actually used to sit near the entrance of the Highland Park subdivision on Olive Branch Road.  In early 2002, through a deal between the homeowner and the owner of Crabapple Creek Country Day School, the house on the site would be moved to its new location on Runyon Road, just north of Olive Branch Road.  Due to logistical concerns, the house was moved via the roadways through Highland Park in order to avoid many of the obstacles on Olive Branch Road such as low-hanging trees and curves in the road.  Some photos from the move are shown below, courtesy of Russ Courtney.  The last three photos show how the structure looks today (with modifications and additions).
