Fire damages neighborhood home

         A fire broke out in a home on Cheviot Court last evening following a lightning strike that struck the roof over the garage.  The fire had already broken through a window and part of the roof before the fire department had arrived.  Although actual fire damage was limited to the roof, there was extensive heat, water, and smoke damage throughout most of the structure.  No one was injured and the family is staying with relatives while the house is repaired.  See a related story HERE on the fire department's web site.
