November 9, 2002		Moving Day finally arrives!!!  Thanks to the help of 15 people, we were done by noon moving both the apartment and the storage unit!  Special thanks to Jeremy Pell for helping prep the full day before.
October 28, 2002		The kitchen countertops were installed today.  Plumbing is also now complete.
October 27, 2002		It's hard to see, but the landscape lighting is done and turned on for the first time.  We also spent the day doing yard work  - 1 1/2 hours of straight mowing time :(
October 4, 2002		Interior painting continues along with ceramic tile installation.
September 28, 2002		Landscaping is under way.  Marty (the landscaper) is seen installing the plant beds, mulch, and accent lighting.  Concrete curbing and sod is scheduled for next week.
September 27, 2002		The lawn irrigation system was installed today.  The entire system was in place and working by sunset!
September 24, 2002		Interior work continues with the application of paint and sub-flooring.  All trim work is nearly complete with the exception of kitchen cabinetry.  The cabinets are still being custom-built at the factory and are due in at any time.  The downspout drains were installed today and finish-grade begun on the outside.
September 4, 2002		Sidewalk and driveway work begins today with the application of forms.  McKinley Foster (a.k.a. "The Best Concrete Man in the Business") can be seen in the top photo in the back of the truck.
September 2, 2002		Drywall work is now complete with crews finishing the ceiling texturing and sanding.
August 14, 2002		Drywall is underway on the inside and gutter application has begun outside.
August 12, 2002		Brick is complete (or at least 99%).  Still a couple of final touches to be done including the address block below.
August 10, 2002		Insulation is complete.  Downstairs we installed traditional batt-style insulation, but upstairs we used a blown-in type.  The blown-in type supposedly provides a far superior barrier.
August 2, 2002		Bricklayers continue their work (day 3).  The bottom photo shows a close-up of the brick color by the front stoop.  Also seen is the 'year built' block.
August 1, 2002		Whew! The wiring is done! I finished the phone, cable, cat5e (computer), two home theaters, and the security system today.  After running a couple of miles (literally) of wire to 52 points of termination around the house, I'm ready for a vacation.  Thanks to Mark Culver, Candy Ashby, and Rob Skiver for helping out.
July 31, 2002		The bricklayers finally show up and begin to work.  In this photo they are just setting up.
July 29, 2002		OUCH! Heavy rains and high winds cause a retaining wall on one of the window wells to collapse inward into the basement wall.  Damage was minor and will be repaired by the end of this week.  The same storm also ripped several large sections of shingle caps.
July 14, 2002		Top picture shows view from living room showing dining room and entry.  Our new address is shown on the permit (3725 Highland Park Drive) and an arsonist strikes our dumpster on July 13 at 1:13 in the morning.  No damage to the house.
July 12, 2002		Windows and exterior doors are installed.  Shingles started and base coat of paint applied to exterior trim.
July 4, 2002		Most framing is complete.  Exterior trim has begun along with door and window installations.
June 26, 2002		Roof framing complete. Decking started before more heavy rain halts work for the day.
June 25, 2002		Proof that wood floats! Heavy rains slow progress as the basement becomes a pond and keeps the sump pump working overtime.
June 21, 2002		Roof framing under way.
June 13, 2002		Main floor framing complete.
June 7, 2002		Framing begins in basement.
June 3, 2002		Back-filling begins.
May 30, 2002		Basement foundation is complete.
May 21, 2002		Basement walls are poured.
May 16, 2002		Basement is dug and footers are poured.
May 1, 2002		Newly purchased lot in Highland Park.  The lot is later staked on May 5, 2002
